The kick-off meeting of a new European project coordinated by Zaragoza City of Knowledge Foundation (FZC) /Etopia Center for Art & Technology was held on October 30 via online. Representatives of partner organisations, MEET and INOVA+ gathered to discuss key issues regarding project management and implementation.
INNOCULT is a European innovative program for content industries whose main goal is to create a blended platform with AI tools and support resources to help content industries to research and explore the most innovative possible approaches in innovation and, at the same time, to create a European network of content and creative players/companies to work at a transnational level in the EU framework.
The project is specifically aimed at supporting small and micro-content industries, allowing them to access innovative languages, methodologies and technologies, undertaking disruptive projects, so to transform their business models, adapting them to the digitalization and other innovation impulses.
The main objective of this Pilot Project “platform(s) for cultural content innovation” is to incentivize European content industries to nurture and embrace innovation and take up new technologies in order to be able to sustain their position as creative pioneers in the digital era.
In order to nurture its platform, INNOCULT is displayed through an innovative “blended residency program” format where each institution of the network launches a national/local call for content industries to implement disruptive projects in the local area, institution hometown, supported by experts and by digital creatives (INNOCULT Agents).
Throughout the implementation of these projects, each institution targets a group of local, national and European players in order to help -through virtual or in-presence workshops, meetings, conferences, stays- the residency company to develops the projects, becoming part of the INNOCULT community as well.

The final outcome is to produce and share different innovative approaches to innovate content industries in shape of new formats, business models, communication strategies, citizen engages, events, etc. and even more to encourage European CCIs to collaborate and work in transnational European level. This will be materialized in the “Innocult quality stamp trademark” that content industries will own after participating in the project as a sign of quality of cultural innovation companies.
INNOCULT mainly aims to:
- INTRODUCE an innovative mind-set and foster digital innovation in Media and Content Industries
- CREATE an international community that brings together, players and partners
- DESIGN test and systematize a new scheme to support Media and Content Industries in their approaches to business innovation
- CREATE a generative and self-standing blended space where users find inspiration, up to date information, tailored support and know-how, international partners, and new markets.
